Keema and Bhindi – The Curry that Stole My Heart:

Growing up in a South Indian family, I was no stranger to okra. From stir-fried okra to okra curry, my family and I had tried it all. However, I had never heard of okra with keema until a friend suggested it to me. I remember looking at him like he was crazy when he first brought it up. I couldn’t picture the two flavors coming together in harmony. But, he was determined to make me a believer.

I still remember the picture he sent me on WhatsApp and I couldn’t help but stare at it, wondering if it was really as delicious as it looked. I was still a bit skeptical about the combination of okra and keema. Eventually, my friend convinced me to come over to his place to try it out.

With fear I made my way to his house and was greeted with hot rotis and this mysterious curry. I didn’t know what to expect, but I took a bite, and let me tell you, I fell in love. It was like fireworks going off in my mouth. I was crazy, stupid, in love with this curry that I never wanted to try in the first place.
