- 2 tbsp oil
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 tsp turmeric
- Dry coconut or desiccated coconut
- 15 pods garlic
- 3 tsp chili powder
- Coriander for garnish

Step 1: Grinding the Coconut, Garlic, and Chili mixture
To begin with, let’s prepare the coconut, garlic, and chili mixture. Take a mixer grinder and add in the desiccated coconut, garlic, and chili powder. Grind it into a coarse mixture and set it aside.
Step 2: Cooking the Ivy Gourd
Next, let’s move on to cooking the Ivy gourd. Take a wok or kadai and add 2 tbsp of oil to it. Once the oil is slightly hot, add the chopped Ivy gourd to it. Add salt and turmeric to it and mix well. Close the lid and let it cook for 10 minutes, stirring it in between.

- 250 Grams Ivy Gourd/ Dondakaya/ Tindora, washed & chopped
- 2 Tbsp Oil
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 Tsp Turmeric
- 3 Tbs Dry coconut or Desiccated coconut
- 15 Pods Garlic
- 3 Tsp Chili Powder
- Coriander for garnish
Instructions
- Start by preparing the coconut-garlic-chili mixture. In a mixer, add the desiccated coconut, garlic, and chili powder. Grind it into a coarse powder and set it aside.
- In a wok, add 2 tbsp of oil and heat it on medium flame.
- Once the oil is hot, add the chopped Ivy Gourd and sprinkle salt and turmeric. Mix well and cover the wok with a lid.
- Cook the Ivy Gourd for 5-7 minutes, stirring it in between to prevent it from sticking to the bottom.
- Once the Ivy Gourd is cooked, add the coconut-garlic-chili mixture and mix well.
