From Tears to Cheers: My Love-Hate Relationship with Maggi Noodles:

When I was a kid, I hated Maggi. I mean, I was absolutely terrified of it. I couldn’t understand how anyone could love something that looked like a squishy, slimy mess. My elder sister, on the other hand, was head over heels in love with it from the moment she tasted it. She would have it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if she could.

My second sister and I, however, wanted nothing to do with it. we were absolutely terrified of it. The way it looked, the way it felt all soft and slimy, it was just too much for our little taste buds to handle. I remember crying when my mom tried to force it down my throat, and after that traumatic experience, I don’t recall her making it again.

By the time I was 10 years old, I was in love with this crazy breakfast, and my siblings and I used to beg our mom to make it for us all the time. I still remember the excitement we all felt when mom used to put the Maggi bowl in front of us. We would go slurping away at the noodles and always argue about who got the longest one.

Now, as a grown woman, I still love Maggi and I make so many different variations of it. There’s plain Maggi, cheese Maggi, fried Maggi, and so on. But one of my favorite has to be this spicy masala butter Maggi recipe. I love it because I get to enjoy the goodness of all the veggies and my love for spice is fulfilled with the green chilies.

It’s funny how things can change over time. I went from being terrified of Maggi to absolutely loving it.

I guess you could say that Maggi is a lot like life – it’s messy, it’s unpredictable, and sometimes it takes a while to appreciate its true beauty.

So, I may have had a traumatic experience with Maggi as a child, but now I’m a proud Maggi lover who’s not afraid to experiment with new flavors and combinations. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll even come up with a new Maggi recipe that will take the world by storm! 😉

Alright folks, enough about my life’s drama, let’s get to the good stuff – cooking up a storm with this super easy and lip-smacking recipe!

Turning Maggi from a Junk Food to a Nutrient-packed Delight:

Ah, the infamous Maggi. You know, it’s kind of like that one ex you keep going back to even though you know it’s not good for you. But fear not, my friend! With a few added veggies and eggs, we can turn this guilty pleasure into a healthy indulgence. So, let’s get to it and make some magic with Maggi!

But before we get started with the recipe, let’s talk a bit about why you should be incorporating more veggies into your diet. Not only are they loaded with vitamins and minerals, but they can also help you maintain a healthy weight and reduce your risk of chronic diseases like heart disease and diabetes. And what better way to get your daily dose of veggies than by adding them to your favorite comfort food?

However, it is important to remember that Maggi should be consumed in moderation as it is high in sodium and can be unhealthy if eaten too often.

Ingredients:

  • 2 sticks of butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1/2 tbsp pepper
  • Half onion
  • 1 cup peas
  • 1 cup cabbage
  • 1 cup carrot
  • Ajinomoto (optional)
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 5 cups of water
  • 4 Maggi noodles
  • 4 Maggi masala packets
  • 5 green chilies
  • Coriander for garnish

Instructions:

We’re going to start by preparing the scrambled eggs, followed by the vegetables, and then we’ll add the Maggi noodles.

Step 1: Scramble the eggs

Take a kadai or a large pan and add a stick of butter to it. Once the butter has melted, crack 3 eggs into the kadai and add a pinch of salt and pepper. Scramble the eggs using a spatula and then keep them aside.

Step 2: Cook the vegetables

In the same kadai, add another stick of butter and let it melt. Add half an onion and a pinch of salt to help the onion cook faster.

Once the onion has turned translucent, add the peas, cabbage, and carrot. Sauté them for a few minutes until they’re cooked but not overcooked.

Remember, the vegetables will cook further with the water and noodles. You can add ajinomoto at this stage if you want. Then, add a 1/2 tsp of chili powder, 1 tsp of garam masala, and some salt to taste. Mix well.

Step 3: Add water and Maggi noodles

Now, add 5 cups of water to the kadai and bring it to a boil. Once the water is boiling, add 4 Maggi noodles to the kadai. Let them cook for 2-3 minutes until they’re fully cooked. Stir occasionally to prevent the noodles from sticking together.

Step 4: Add Maggi masala

Once the noodles are fully cooked, add 4 packets of Maggi masala to the kadai and mix well. Now, add the scrambled eggs to the kadai and mix everything together.

Step 5: Garnish and serve

Slice 5 green chilies and chop up some coriander for garnish. Sprinkle them over the top of the Maggi noodles and mix well. This will give the noodles a delicious flavor. Your spicy masala butter Maggi is now ready to serve!
