Instructions:

Cooking the dal:

  1. Wash the toor dal and keep it aside.
  2. Take a pressure cooker and add the washed toor dal, bottle gourd, tomatoes, green chilies, grated raw mango, water, turmeric, chili powder, and ghee.
  3. Close the cooker and let it cook for 3 whistles on high and 2 on low.
  4. Let it cool down a bit and open the cooker.
  5. Add salt and mash the dal with a ladle and keep it aside.
  6. If the dal is too thick, add 1 glass of water and bring it to a boil.

  1. Take a kadai and add oil.
  2. Once it is hot, add dry red chilies, urad dal, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, and garlic, and fry them well.
