Ragi Malt is the perfect way to start your day with a bang. This delicious and nutritious drink is made from one of the healthiest superfoods on the planet – finger millet, also known as ragi. And to make things even better, it's sweetened with jaggery, an all-natural sugar substitute that's packed with minerals and antioxidants.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cup Ragi Flour
  • 4 Cups Water
  • 1 Cup Jaggery, grated or in small pieces
  • 1/2 Cup Milk
  • 1/2 tbsp Cinnamon Powder

Instructions
 

  • In a saucepan, bring 3 cups of water to a boil.
  • Add the grated jaggery and continue to stir until the jaggery has melted and incorporated into the water.
  • In a separate bowl, mix 1 cup of ragi flour with a small amount of water to form a smooth paste.
  • Gradually add the ragi paste to the boiling jaggery water, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  • Reduce heat to medium and continue to stir for about 2 minutes, or until the mixture thickens.
  • Once the ragi has thickened, turn off the heat and add 1/2 cup of milk to the mixture and stir to combine.
  • Remove from heat and transfer the mixture to a serving bowl. If desired, add cinnamon powder for a delicious twist on the traditional recipe.
  • Serve hot or chill in the refrigerator and have it cold.
