The Perfect Side Dish: Cabbage Fry in Under 15 Minutes
Cabbage is a nutritious vegetable that is loaded with vitamins, minerals, and fiber. It is a versatile vegetable that can be prepared in a variety of ways. Cabbage fry is a simple and tasty recipe that is easy to prepare and can be served as a side dish with rotis or rice. In this recipe, I will share with you my personal method for making cabbage fry that is both easy and delicious.

- 1 Cabbage, chopped
- 1 Big Onion, chopped
- 3 Chilis, chopped
- 1 Tsp Salt
- 1 Tsp Red Chili Powder
- 1/2 Tsp Haldi (turmeric powder)
- 3 Tsp Oil
- 1 Cup Grated Dry Coconut / Dedicated Coconut
- Coriander for garnish
Start by chopping the onion, green chili, and cabbage into small pieces. Set them aside for later.
In a kadai or a pan, heat 3 tsp of oil on medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the chopped onions and green chilis and fry them until they turn golden brown.
Add the chopped cabbage to the kadai and mix well with the onions and green chilis. Cook for about 5 minutes or until the cabbage starts to soften.
Next, add 1 tsp of salt, 1 tsp of red chili powder, and 1/2 tsp of haldi (turmeric powder) to the kadai. Mix well until the spices are evenly distributed. Cook on low heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
After 10 minutes, add 1 cup of grated dry coconut or dedicated coconut to the kadai. Mix well and leave it to cook for another 2 minutes.
Once the cabbage fry is cooked, remove it from heat and transfer it to a serving bowl. Garnish with coriander and serve hot with rotis or hot rice and dal.
